Registration numbers
When you enter a registration, it is sent to our server, which passes it to the DVSA MOT history API and returns the result to your browser. We do not store registration numbers, do not link them to you, and do not build any record of what has been searched.
Accounts
There are none. We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details, because the service is free and needs none of them.
Cookies
We set no cookies and use no tracking pixels.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that count page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
Where the data comes from
Vehicle and MOT test information is supplied by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We do not alter the underlying records. If something in your MOT history is wrong, it has to be corrected at source — GOV.UK explains how to get MOT certificate mistakes corrected.
Not an official service
EveryMOT is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the DVSA, the DVLA or GOV.UK.
Affiliate links
Some links to insurance, warranty and full vehicle history providers are affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This has no effect on the MOT data shown, which comes directly from the DVSA.
